It has been a year full of noes, what with the pandemic and the attendant social restrictions. ‘No’ to important physical gatherings, and ‘no’ to the basic treats we used to enjoy owing to the harsher economy this year. But here comes the holidays, a welcome distraction, and below are things you should be saying ‘yes’ to, to make the most of it.
Say 'yes' to gifts: Be open to receiving the love and appreciation you will get in form of gifts this season. Admittedly, some of them might make you suffer from impostor syndrome for a while, making you wonder what you’ve ever done to deserve them. But, believe me, you’re worth these presents and more! What’s more, gifts aren’t all about money or clothes; you could also gift your loved one a professionally-written resume by us, to get them started in 2021 with a fresh vibe to their career goals
.
Say 'yes' to placing your mental health first: 2020 has been stressful enough, so it’s alright to spend as much time as you need to catch your breath before facing the new year. After all, what’s the point of the holidays if you spend the most of it emotionally drained from the Christmas and New Year frenzy? Avoid stressors that may trigger undue pressure on your mental health.
Say 'yes' to saying no: You don’t have to be at that get-together if you don’t want to, neither do you have to exceed your budget to indulge people’s “Detty December” wishes. Remember that you’ll have to live on what’s left of your financial resources in the coming 62 days of January.
Say 'yes' to a little self-indulgence: Have that extra cookie without the burden of guilt. Breathe. Stretch. Let it go. Give yourself a break this period already. You deserve the respite.
Say 'yes' to random acts of kindness: …because I’m sure you’ll agree with me that the love, positivity, and thoughtfulness demonstrated in our engagements are the real beauty of this season.
Here’s wishing you a holiday filled goodness.
